The GliaSite Radiation Therapy System (RTS) offers the potential to improve treatment outcome by delivering a high dose of radiation to the area most likely to contain cancerous cells with few side effects. If it has not been presented as a treatment option for you, this could be for a variety of reasons. Your doctor may not be familiar with the GliaSite RTS or may not know the location of the nearest brain tumor center that uses the GliaSite RTS. It is also possible that he or she may not have the training needed to use the GliaSite RTS.
