GliaSite RTS Information Request
What is GliaSite RTS?

New technology for the treatment of brain cancer is advancing every day. Every day, hope increases.

The GliaSite Radiation Therapy System (RTS), one of the most promising therapies introduced in the last ten years, is designed for the treatment of newly diagnosed, metastatic and recurrent brain tumors by delivering radiation from within the cavity created by the surgical removal of the tumor.

The device combines the patented GliaSite balloon catheter with Iotrex® Radiotherapy Solution, a proprietary radiation source specifically developed to treat patients with malignant tumors.

Until now, internal radiation therapy was known to be effective, but very difficult to perform, with significant patient complications. The GliaSite RTS maximizes the benefits of internal radiotherapy while minimizing the disadvantages. The GliaSite RTS enables physicians to offer internal radiation therapy to more patients than ever before.
